Editorial Baking Recipe Book

At the core of this project is a manifesto that prioritises sensory experience and
emotional engagement over
literal visual representation. Rather than depicting recognisable objects, the work
focuses on communicating
internal qualities such as taste, texture, and atmosphere. Through minimal colour
palettes, close-up
compositions, and “straight-to-the-face” imagery, the book invites the viewer to feel rather
than simply
see. This approach challenges passive consumption, encouraging moments of pause, curiosity,
and exploration.
These principles guided every stage of the design process. Appetising visuals were achieved
through
detailed, high-quality imagery that emphasises richness and texture, enhanced using tools
such as Krea
Enhancer and Photoshop. A structured grid system and consistent pacing were applied to
maintain clarity and
balance, ensuring the visual abstraction remained controlled and readable. The result is
an immersive yet
cohesive visual language that translates the manifesto into a physical reading
experience.
The content of the book was curated with equal intention. Recipes were carefully selected to
be simple,
quick, and suitable for everyday breakfast preparation, focusing on accessibility without
compromising
appeal. By choosing dishes that are both visually engaging and easy to recreate, the book
creates a
practical and inviting experience for the reader, reinforcing its aim to make cooking
approachable,
enjoyable, and sensorially engaging.
